Clinical Intake Coordinator/Clinical Resident

This full-time position is for a motivated and talented professional newly licensed at the graduate level (LMSW/LGPC) who is eager to gain knowledge and experience in a private practice setting.

The Clinical Intake Coordinator is a leadership role for a talented newly graduate/licensed Social Worker or Counselor. The Clinical Intake Coordinator is also a Clinical Resident at Avalon. Clinical Residents are provisionally licensed and gaining knowledge and experience under supervision toward independent licensure.

The successful candidate demonstrates humility, eagerness to learn, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills, including positive contribution to our practice culture. Lived experience in common with our client base is welcome.

Duties:

  • Respond to new client inquiries, conduct brief intake assessment, and scheduling.
  • Maintain a client caseload of 15-20 sessions per week.
  • Actively participate in Clinical Supervision and Clinical Training.
  • Contribute to the Practice Leadership Team.

Clinician: Trauma Specialist

This full-time position is for a motivated and talented professional licensed in Maryland at the independent level (LCSW-C/LCPC/LCMFT) who is eager to bring their knowledge and experience to a progressive and collaborative private practice setting.

Trauma Specialists have at least two years of knowledge and experience supporting clients presenting with trauma-based symptoms, including anxiety, depression, relational difficulties, ADHD, and other symptoms. Trauma may be event-based or attachment-based. Trauma Specialists have training specific to the treatment of trauma and use a developmental and intersectional lens.

The successful candidate demonstrates humility, eagerness to learn, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills, including positive contribution to our practice culture. Lived experience in common with our client base is welcome.

  • Available to maintain 25 sessions per week with 30 scheduled
  • Additional training beyond CBT, such as EMDR, Trauma Modalities, DBT, Gottman, Emotion Focused Therapy, and Experiential Therapies

Clinician: LGBTQ+ Specialist

This full-time position is for a motivated and talented professional licensed in Maryland at the independent level (LCSW-C/LCPC/LCMFT) who is eager to bring their knowledge and experience to a progressive and collaborative private practice setting.

LGBTQ+ Specialists have at least two years knowledge and experience supporting the mental health needs members of LGBTQ+ communities. LGBTQ+ Specialists practice from a developmental and intersectional perspective, recognizing the impact of oppression on clients. Avalon Psychotherapy Associates practices from a kink/BDSM-positive, polyamory-positive, and alt-sex-positive perspective.

The successful candidate demonstrates humility, eagerness to learn, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills, including positive contribution to our practice culture. Lived experience in common with our client base is welcome.

Clinician: Eating Disorder Specialist

This full-time position is for a motivated and talented professional licensed in Maryland at the independent level (LCSW-C/LCPC/LCMFT) who is eager to bring their knowledge and experience to a progressive and collaborative private practice setting.

Eating Disorder Specialists have at least two years of knowledge and experience supporting the mental health needs of diverse clients presenting with eating disorders, disordered eating, and other feeding and body image mental health needs. Eating Disorder specialists practice from a developmental/attachment perspective and practice through an intersectional lens when serving diverse clients. Avalon Psychotherapy Associates practices from an Intuitive Eating/Health At Every Size perspective.

The successful candidate demonstrates humility, eagerness to learn, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills, including positive contribution to our practice culture. Lived experience in common with our client base is welcome.
