Create a Home In Your Inner World

What if your healing wasn’t something you had to force? What if it’s already trying to happen—right now, inside you?

In Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, we say that within each person is an experience trying to happen. Something unfinished. Something your mind and body have been holding, waiting for the right conditions to release, resolve, or complete.

Not because you’re broken. But because some part of you never got what it needed. Safety. Comfort. Attunement. The feeling of being held without needing to shrink or perform.

And here’s the beautiful thing: Your nervous system remembers what you didn’t get. And it’s still trying to get it—through every anxious moment, every emotional reaction, every time you feel like you’re “too much.”

That’s not dysfunction. It’s repair in motion.

Sometimes what’s trying to happen is simple:

  • A calming that was never offered.

  • A truth that was never spoken.

  • A cry that was never heard.

  • A boundary that was never allowed.

When we slow down—when we notice, listen, and hold space with compassion—That healing can finally unfold. The experience that was never safe enough to happen… begins to happen.

You don’t have to figure it all out. You don’t have to push harder. You don’t have to fix every part of you that hurts.

You just have to make space.

And trust that something wise, something whole, is already moving inside you.

We can hold that space with you.

A Practice: Let the Healing Begin

Find a quiet moment today and gently place your hand on your chest. Close your eyes, if it feels safe. Take three slow breaths and say to yourself:

“Something in me is trying to heal. I don’t have to rush it. I only have to allow it.”

Notice what shifts, even slightly, in your body. See if a word, image, or sensation arises.

If journaling feels supportive, try this prompt:

What does the experience that wants to happen inside me need today?

There’s no right answer. Only noticing.

If something inside you feels like it’s trying to emerge, soften, or shift—we’re here to help you listen.

Hey there!

You don’t have to keep being hard on yourself.

You don’t have to lie awake with worry.
You don’t have to feel stuck forever in a past that keeps pulling you away from the present.

Somatic therapy works where your hurt lives—
deep in the body,
where tension, memories, and old patterns have taken root.

Together, we’ll create the safety your body needs
to release what it’s been holding.

You deserve peace.
You deserve confidence.
You deserve joy.

Let’s start now.
